Tide of Time
there was a time,
a moment, for us
the clock ticked,
the sky wept;
I blinked
and time
thawed.
still
in its grip I felt frozen
as I and that I struggled to hold
were torn asunder by the tide.
I blink,
but rivers surge.
still
reflected in a ring of ripples
on the surface I can see the circle:
you and she, you and she
but not a glint of moonlight
nor a sparkle cast from star.
I close my eyes
to be someone, somewhere
else
bloodless
but I am not.
