To be what you are asking me to be
you have to try yourself,
in places other than my porch.
Leave me to my wrongs
instead of drowning me in them.

The only weapon that you wield
is your opinion,
and you use it on those people you brand criminals
without evidence of your claim.
When you strike
you hurl the maces at their heads!—
You don't fight fair.
You say you mean to educate and enlighten,
but instead you startle
and you injure.
You land your blows to the head
and to the heart,
fighting down those things
that mean the most to people.
You are not teaching—
you are saving seats
in your snobby little clique
and scowling down at everybody else.

You are no hero here.
You look for not a challenge but a victim,
and a win.
